The finest Scottish traditions of quality and craftsmanship seep through every pore of Links House.
It is among our most prestigious projects and it is one where we've helped create a building of real splendour.
Links House is a former church manse and its new US-based owner was keen to restore the building to world-class standards.
In particular, his aim was to create an outstanding small hotel that reflected the very best customs of the Highlands and matched the drama of the Links House setting, overlooking the 1st tee at Royal Dornoch golf course.
The new Links House has just eight bedrooms, each with its own distinctive character. Overall, we created a host of features, from wall panelling and cabinetry to bedroom and dining room furniture, wardrobes, and doors.
Every item was rigorously designed and produced in our workshop, with the emphasis firmly on timeless style.
We took time to select the most appropriate timbers, such as Mahogany and Douglas Fir, to help create a rich, warm ambience. And to reinforce the individuality of Links House we created several unique fittings, including door handles modelled on fishing reels and golf club heads.
Throughout, we worked hand-in-hand with the architects, Maxwell & Co of Inverness.
Our care and attention was well noted. After the initial phase the owner was quick to call us from the US to let us know how pleased he was with the job we'd done.
In fact, he was so delighted he asked us to stay on for another few weeks to provide some additional finishing touches.
