We were recently invited to become part of a team of passionate individuals to deliver a shop-fitting renovation for a prestigious retailer in Bond Street in central London.

In this article we’ll give an insight into some of the main areas of this exciting commission and how we’re working to deliver an incredible end result.

Our reputation precedes us

This particular job came as a result of a direct referral from the main contractor working on the shop refit. We’ve worked with them previously and they engaged us because of our expertise in fine cabinetry and the meticulous standard of work we provide.

American black walnut

The interior designer specified American black walnut which is the ideal choice for framing the array of watches, diamonds, and other precious stones. The beautiful rich grain of walnut will allow a wonderful depth to the finish.

Project challenges

The design of the cabinetry incorporates curved, toughened glass from Romag. This part of the project requires a high degree of precision and accuracy as there was no margin for error.

As you’d expect when dealing with items of jewellery worth many thousands of pounds, the display cabinets require specialist locking systems for extra security, which were specially commissioned for this project. Because of this, there are a few additional considerations to be taken into account when assembling the cabinets. We are liaising with the main contractor and Bramah Locks to ensure that every little detail was taken on board and transferred into the finished articles.

These beautifully crafted jewellery display cabinets, being so bespoke, will help complement the stunning aesthetic of the showroom. The compound joints will be manufactured using tried and tested methods which go back centuries. Every detail of this fine cabinetry exudes luxury, right down to the drawers which will be lined with leather from Moore & Giles.

Summary

The opportunity to work with a world-class team and integrate with other trades for related services such as cabinet alarms and lighting is a challenge we are relishing.

We will be providing an updated on the completed cabinets once they’re in pride of place in the jeweller’s premises in Bond Street.
