In February of this year it was announced that Laurence McIntosh had been appointed to reconstruct a full size prototype of a library bay for the Mackintosh Library at the Glasgow School of Art. In today’s Scotland On Sunday journalist Dani Garavelli writes of her visit to our workshop and interviews co-owner David MacDonald, head carver Martins Cirulis and lead craftsman Angus Johnson all of whom reflect on the complexity of this project and their obsession with capturing every minute detail of the original Charles Rennie Mackintosh drawings, from which the original library was completed back in 1910.
