Bonnington House is a striking baronial estate of considerable heritage. When Laurence McIntosh stepped in in 2001, our client’s vision was clear: to restore the house as a lived home, bringing it back from decline to domestic use.
The original house required a full structural refurbishment that respected its architectural origins while introducing modern comfort and functionality.
Our refurbishment in 2001 carefully balanced restoration with renovation. We retained original features and baronial character, while sensitively upgrading services and interiors. In 2009, we returned to the estate to design and build new wings, working from Ben Tindall’s architectural plans to expand the home in harmony with its heritage.
"Public reaction to bonnington house has been remarkable"

Working on Bonnington House was a deeply collaborative experience. We partnered with skilled subcontractors who shared our respect for the building’s history, and a client who trusted our vision. The result was a restoration that exceeded expectations, both in finish and in feel. The project stands as a celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, and client-led ambition.
